The Kirby Morgan Bandmask 18B and 28B are fully tested and certified, and may be used by commercial divers in mixed gas commercial diving as well as shallow water commercial diving. The Kirby Morgan SuperFlow adjustable demand regulators provide low inhalation resistance and high gas flow letting the commercial diver breathe easier and work harder with less exertion. The Kirby Morgan 18B and 28B Band Masks come standard with the large tube Kirby Morgan SuperFlow 350 diving regulator. The Kirby Morgan Side Block Assembly of both the Kirby Morgan 18 and 28 Dive Band Masks receives the umbilical over the commercial diver’s shoulder in the B configuration. Both Kirby Morgan Band Masks come standard with the Kirby Morgan Tri-Valve exhaust system, and the new patent pending Kirby Morgan Band Mask® Band Keepers.

The Kirby Morgan Tri-Valve Exhaust System has less breathing resistance for the commercial diver than the older single valve exhaust. The Kirby Morgan Tri-Valve Exhaust System retrofits to all previous Kirby Morgan Band Masks as well as the Kirby Morgan 18B and 28B. The new patent pending Kirby Morgan Band Mask Band Keepers coupled with the redesigned commercial diver’s hood not only prevent any separation of the commercial diver’s hood from the bandmask but also makes it impossible for the bands to separate from the commercial diver’s bandmask.

The communications connections for the KMB Bandmask 18B and 28B can be either a male Marsh and Marine® style waterproof plug in type or bare wire posts. The Kirby Morgan 28B Bandmask is very similar to the Kirby Morgan 18B Bandmask. Many parts on the Kirby Morgan 18B Bandmask are interchangeable with the Kirby Morgan 28B Bandmask. The major difference between the Kirby Morgan 18 and 28 Bandmasks is the material of the commercial diving mask frame itself. The Kirby Morgan 18 Bandmask has a hand laid fiberglass frame (yellow) while the Kirby Morgan 28B Bandmask frame is an extremely durable injection molded plastic (black). The relative ease of production of the Kirby Morgan 28 Bandmask frame allows for a lower cost and quicker delivery of this commercial diver’s bandmask. Other differences include: 1) The main exhaust body of the Kirby Morgan 28 Bandmask is part of the frame itself and uses a #545-041 main exhaust cover 2) no comfort insert is required on the Kirby Morgan 28 Bandmask 3) the face ports for the Kirby Morgan18 and the 28 Bandmasks also differ slightly in size.

  • Includes Kirby Morgan Helmet Bag 500-901 and Kirby Morgan Tool Kit 525-620
  • Head Harness (Spider) keeps the bandmask in place on the commercial diver’s head. The neoprene rubber spider has adjustment holes for varying the tension of the harness.
  • Hood/Face Seal provides the commercial diver a comfortable thermal barrier around the commercial diver’s head as well as pockets for earphones.
  • Steady Flow Valve provides an additional flow of air into the bandmask for ventilation and defogging.
  • Auxiliary Valve supplies backup breathing gas to the commercial diver.
  • Gas Supply Non-Return Valve prevents loss of gas pressure in the event of umbilical damage, preventing a “squeeze”.
  • Communications Connections can be either bare wire posts or a Marsh and Marine® style waterproof connector. The Marsh and Marine® style waterproof connector is recommended when a “round robin” or diver/tender both mics “on” communications system is used.
  • Tri-Valve Exhaust Whisker (Patents Pending), which retrofits to many previous Kirby Morgan Commercial Diving Helmets and Band Masks, has less breathing resistance than the older single valve exhaust while providing an extremely dry diver’s hat. The Kirby Morgan Tri-Valve Exhaust is made of a chemical resistant compound.
  • Water Exhaust automatically keeps water drained from the bandmask.
  • Demand Regulators The SuperFlow350 KMB 18 and KMB 28 diving regulator provides easy breathing for hard work.
  • Nose Block Device allows the commercial diver to block the nose to equalize ears.
  • Silicone Oral Nasal Mask is made of a superior silicone material which is hypo-allergenic.
  • Mask Frame hand laid fiberglass for the Kirby Morgan 18B Bandmask, injection molded plastic for the Kirby Morgan 28B Bandmask.
